Puyallup has gone a perfect 5-0 against Montesano recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Vikings will square off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Puyallup sitting on four straight victories and Montesano on seven.
Puyallup is headed into the match having just posted their closest win since March 12th on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over Olympia.

Kiera Thomas was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Paisley Jamison was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Montesano got the win against Pe Ell/Willapa Valley on Monday by a conclusive 11-1. Considering the Bulldogs have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Lainey Robinson and Ali Parkin did most of the damage at the plate: Robinson scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4, while Parkin got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Alexa Stanfield, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3.
Montesano always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pe Ell/Willapa Valley only posted an OBP of .350.
Montesano's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Puyallup, their record now sits at 6-3.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Puyallup hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .369. However, it's not like Montesano struggles in that department as they've averaged .388. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Puyallup took their win against Montesano in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 12-1 score. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
