The Lanesville Eagles have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They walked away with a 59-49 win over Tecumseh on Saturday. That's another feather in the cap for Lanesville, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Lanesville to victory were Braydon Hodges and Brady Elias. Hodges dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Elias scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. It was the first time this season that Elias scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gene Klusmeier, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Lanesville's win ended a 16-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-14. As for Tecumseh, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Lanesville will head out on the road to challenge the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Indiana (New Washington is ranked 419th, while the Eagles are ranked 408th). As for Tecumseh, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chargers at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
