The Beggs Demons were the 28-20 winner over the Morris Eagles when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Beggs received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 16-2 to Morris. Beggs has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Morris' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Koen Burgess, who rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 47 yards and a touchdown. Morris also got a significant boost from Cruze Lawson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 101 yards.
Beggs has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Morris, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-5.
Beggs will head out on the road to face off against Sperry on Thursday. As for Morris, they will be playing at home against Okmulgee on Friday. Okmulgee comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
