The Sacred Heart Indians put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They claimed a resounding 45-17 victory over New Braunfels Christian Academy at home. The result was nothing new for Sacred Heart, who have now won eight matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.
Brady Haas was on fire: he rushed for 211 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Haas was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Steffek, who rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Sacred Heart's victory was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-9 Bishop Gorman and 2-6 Rosehill Christian (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 42.8% over those games). As for New Braunfels Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Central Texas Christian the next time they take the field. New Braunfels Christian Academy will host Central Texas Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Sacred Heart will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd.
