Veritas Christian Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Nebo Crossing Academy Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Veritas Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups.
Even though Lake Lure Classical Academy scored an imposing 60 points on Thursday, Veritas Christian Academy still came out on top. Veritas Christian Academy took their game against Lake Lure Classical Academy 72-60.
Meanwhile, Nebo Crossing Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 54-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Union Grove Christian. While losing is never fun, Nebo Crossing Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 361st, while Union Grove Christian is ranked 157th).
Veritas Christian Academy pushed their record up to 11-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.5 points per game. As for Nebo Crossing Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
Veritas Christian Academy strolled past Nebo Crossing Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 55-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Veritas Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
