Baseball Recap: Quabbin Regional Has No Trouble Against North

Quabbin Regional won the last time they faced North and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Panthers were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Polar Bears. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won four games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Finn Leander spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up nine Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Quabbin Regional's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Alijah Flint was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Morgan, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Quabbin Regional was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North only posted a batting average of .182.

The win made it two in a row for Quabbin Regional and bumps their season record up to 5-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for North, they are on a 27-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Quabbin Regional has already played their next contest, an 11-2 defeat against Oakmont Regional on the 2nd. As for North, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 15-1 loss against Prouty on the 1st.
