5A Intermountain recap Oct. 30, 2012
Redmond extended the longest winning streak in 5A Intermountain this week by beating Roosevelt, 44-16. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
Redmond took down the Roughriders 44-16 last week, the largest margin of any game.
John Carroll was the best wideout in the league this week as Mountain View beat Bend. Carroll racked up five receptions for 116 yards. Jacob Heffner helped Mountain View's passing attack out by catching three balls for 44 yards.
Kyler Ayers was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 171 yards on 24 carries as the Cougars defeated the Lava Bears. Trevor Roberts also contributed to the rushing game with 41 yards on the ground.
Chad Bach made the biggest impact on defense this week as Mountain View topped Bend. The 6-foot-4 senior racked up one sack.
Jonah Koski put up the best numbers through the air as Matt Craven's team fell to Brian Crum's team. He finished with 16 completions for 229 yards and two touchdowns. Koski's favorite target this week was Duke DeGaetano, who caught three passes for 74 yards.
Mountain View's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cougars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Toby Webb has thrown for 1707 yards and 17 touchdowns this season, while Carroll has 53 catches for 1065 yards. Ayers leads the league in rushing with 1380 yards.
The Lava Bears' DeGaetano is a mere 88 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 178 carries DeGaetano has accumulated 912 yard this year.
Dan Elliott's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 44 points on Roosevelt.
