Potter-Dix has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against The Parkview Christian Patriots at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Potter-Dix on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Red Cloud out of the water with a 58-14 final score. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Potter-Dix had established a 30 point advantage.
It was another big night for Brayden Kasten, who rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns. Landon Gasseling was another key contributor, picking up 53 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Potter-Dix's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Logan Hottell and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Parkview Christian entered their tilt with Cody-Kilgore with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Parkview Christian breezed by Cody-Kilgore on the road to the tune of 40-8.
Potter-Dix's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-8 Creek Valley and 2-6 Minatare (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 35% over those games). As for Parkview Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
Everything came up roses for Potter-Dix against Parkview Christian in their previous meeting back in November of 2021 as the team secured a 70-34 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Potter-Dix since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
