The North Broward Prep Eagles fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 27-20 victory over Pine Crest on Friday. This was payback for North Broward Prep, who suffered a 35-14 loss the last time these two teams met.
Leading North Broward Prep to victory were Mason Chapman and Anthony Mestre. Chapman threw for 206 yards and a touchdown while completing 84% of his passes, while Mestre gained 85 total yards and two touchdowns.
North Broward Prep's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Cory Brown and his three sacks.
North Broward Prep's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Pine Crest, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Broward Prep will take on American Heritage at 6:00 a.m. on Friday. American Heritage is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak. As for Pine Crest, they will be playing at home against Saint Andrew's at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Saint Andrew's will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
