The Franklin Christian Academy Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 67-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mt. Pleasant. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Ryan Benderman was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds for Mt. Pleasant. Benderman has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Holt, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Franklin Christian Academy's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-4. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points per game. As for Mt. Pleasant, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Knowledge Academies at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for Mt. Pleasant, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Jackson Christian at 8:00 p.m. on December 21st.
