The North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers will square off against the Bozeman Bucks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Bay Haven Academy will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.
North Bay Haven Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They blew past Walton 8-1. Considering the Buccaneers have won 17 contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Addison Mallon and Ally Brady made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Mallon struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Brady tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. At bat, Mallon went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Brady went 2-for-4 with two runs. That's the most doubles Mallon has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on McKenzie Goff, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Bailee Gladden, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Bozeman sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over Florida State University High School on Wednesday.
Avery Obert spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.
At the plate, Presley Thomason was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Leah Peacock was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Bozeman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They are 9-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
North Bay Haven Academy's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Bozeman, their victory bumped their record up to 14-10.
Bozeman's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. North Bay Haven Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Bozeman, though, as they've been averaging only 3.7 strikeouts. Will North Bay Haven Academy keep running through batters, or will the Bucks buck the trend?
Everything went North Bay Haven Academy's way against Bozeman in their previous meeting last Thursday, as North Bay Haven Academy made off with an 11-2 win. Do the Buccaneers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bucks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
