Salam and the College Prep of America Thunder will face off at 3:00 p.m. on December 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Salam's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Salam pushed their score all the way to 60 two weeks ago, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 74-60 fall against St. Francis. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Salam has scored all season.
Meanwhile, College Prep of America scored the most points they've had all season to find success two weeks ago. They strolled past Schaumburg Christian with points to spare, taking the game 83-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
College Prep of America's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hamzah Shouman led the charge by scoring 25 points along with nine assists and eight rebounds. The matchup was Shouman's 14th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amar Abdulhamid, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds.
Salam's defeat dropped their record down to 4-1. As for College Prep of America, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
