Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans walked away with it. They really took it to Fairview for the full four quarters, racking up a 42-14 win on the road. The victory was just what Fountain-Fort Carson needed coming off of a 45-7 loss in their prior contest.
It was another big night for Mathias Price, who rushed for 305 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per carry. Price really tore up the turf during one magnificent 87-yard run.
Despite the loss, Fairview still got an impressive performance from Jordan Rechel, who picked up 110 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Fountain-Fort Carson's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Fairview, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-2.
Fountain-Fort Carson will head out on the road to face off against Columbine at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Columbine is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Fairview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
