After a string of four wins, the Fallston Cougars's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 43-36 to Patterson Mill. Fallston was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Patterson Mill apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Fallston still got an impressive performance from Ayla Galloway, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Galloway is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Natalie Wirth, who scored three points along with 13 rebounds and three steals.
Patterson Mill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rylie Madsen led the charge by scoring 13 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Madsen is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmyne Jordan, who scored seven points along with three steals and two blocks.
Fallston's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4. As for Patterson Mill, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.
