Wheatland will be defending their home turf for the first time on Thursday when they go up against Paradise at 5:30 PM. It might come down to the wire as the game is expected to be close.
Wheatland had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They found themselves the relunctant recipients of an unpleasant 6-37 punch to the gut against Red Bluff last Thursday.
Paradise had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They were fully in charge last week, breezing past Orland 41-0.
Paradise's win lifted them to 1-0 while Wheatland's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Paradise can add another positive mark to their record or if Wheatland can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Paradise's step.
