Delphi Community is 0-10 against the Bombers since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The two teams will face off at 2:30 p.m. on February 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Delphi Community will be strutting in after a win while the Bombers will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Saturday, Delphi Community earned a 46-35 victory over the Falcons.
Delphi Community's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Walker Jones, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. Jones has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Almager, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Rensselaer Central suffered a tough 66-40 defeat at the hands of the Hawks on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Rensselaer Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 298th, while the Hawks are ranked 113th).
Delphi Community has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-10 record this season. As for Rensselaer Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
Delphi Community was dealt a bruising 72-42 defeat at the hands of the Bombers when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Delphi Community, Tristen Wuethrich (who scored 22 points along with two blocks) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
