Middletown is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Kennard-Dale is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Blue Raiders will host the Rams at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Middletown will bounce into Monday's match after beating Palmyra, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Blue Raiders never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 21-0 victory on Thursday. That 21 run margin sets a new team best for the Blue Raiders this season.
Kenadee Hileman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Hileman was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Journee Stover, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Stover is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Meghan O'Brien, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kennard-Dale). Everything went their way against Octorara Area on Thursday as they made off with an 18-1 win.
Like Middletown, Kennard-Dale also got a great game from a two-way player: Taryn Ashenfelter. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). Ashenfelter was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Maddie Argiro was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Hailey Serruto was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run.
Kennard-Dale hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.
Middletown's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Kennard-Dale, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.
