Kiera Nielson posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Friday. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits. She was up against Genesee and has quite the history against that squad, as she also had a great game the last time she faced them back in March. Nielson has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
