A feisty cat fight will be fought as Foley Lions take on Chilton County Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Foley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Foley took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They blew past East Lawrence 14-8. Considering the Lions have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Austin Heiden made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring four runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Foley is undefeated when Heiden posts two or more runs, but 7-9 otherwise.

In other batting news, Kolby Jordan was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Gavin Glass was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.
Foley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Chilton County fell victim to Har-Ber and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 7-0 to the Wildcats. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Tigers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Chilton County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Coven Crumpton, who went 1-for-2 with one double. Stephen Cromer also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Foley's victory bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Chilton County, their loss dropped their record down to 13-12.
Chilton County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Foley has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432.
