The Munster Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the Crown Point Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Munster gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Lowell as they made off with an 11-3 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Mustangs considering their two-run performance the game before.
Munster got a great performance from Carter Dumaresq as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.2 innings pitched.

At the plate, Zach Wright was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Munster is undefeated when Wright posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Donovan Craig also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Munster always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lowell only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Crown Point). Everything went their way against Merrillville on Wednesday as they made off with a 21-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.
The team relied heavily on Billy Chidsey, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaxtyn Alexander, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Munster now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Crown Point, their record is now 11-3.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Munster has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Crown Point struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Munster couldn't quite get it done against Crown Point in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 9-4. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
