The Rocky Mountain Lobos will face off against the Fort Collins Lambkins at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rocky Mountain is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Wrigley Cox made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Rocky Mountain let Roan Kachel and Erik Jacobson run wild. Kachel went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Jacobson went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most hits Kachel has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Abernathy, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with two runs.
Meanwhile, Fort Collins made easy work of Greeley West on Wednesday and carried off an 11-1 victory. The Lambkins have beaten the Spartans the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Spartans has come to flipping the script.
Like Rocky Mountain, Fort Collins also got a great game from a two-way player: Coy Priebe. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Priebe is becoming a predictor of Fort Collins' success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 6-8 when he doesn't). Priebe was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ben Hopper, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Fort Collins: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least one home run, but 6-8 otherwise. Kincade Crow was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Rocky Mountain pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Fort Collins, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.
Fort Collins' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Rocky Mountain has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .457. It's a different story for Fort Collins, though, as they've only averaged .343. Will they be able to contain Rocky Mountain's hitters?
Rocky Mountain came up short against Fort Collins when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 6-1. Will the Lobos have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
