Tahoma is 9-1 against Mt. Rainier since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bears will head out to square off against the Rams at 4:00 p.m. Tahoma will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.
Tahoma's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Kennedy Catholic as they made off with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Alexa Ramirez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mia Hammington, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Kassidy Vanderhoof also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Tahoma always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .514 or higher in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Mt. Rainier lost 9-1 to Auburn Riverside on Tuesday. The Rams have struggled against the Ravens recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Mt. Rainier saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lorelai Deardorff, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Tahoma's record is now 12-2. As for Mt. Rainier, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
Mt. Rainier's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Tahoma has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12.9 hits per game. It's a different story for Mt. Rainier, though, as they've been averaging 12.1 hits. Given Tahoma's sizable advantage in that area, the Rams will need to find a way to close that gap.
Tahoma got the 'W' when the teams last played on April 6th against Mt. Rainier by a conclusive 20-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
