The East Lee County Jaguars lost against the Fort Myers Green Wave back in January of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. East Lee County was dealt a 58-26 defeat at the hands of Fort Myers. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for East Lee County in their matchups with Fort Myers: they've now lost five in a row.
Marquielle Tory was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and four steals for Fort Myers. Tory is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Therry Theresias, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
East Lee County has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Fort Myers, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
East Lee County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Evangelical Christian at 3:00 p.m. on December 22nd. Fort Myers will be home for the holidays to greet Bishop Verot at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bishop Verot is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
