Balmorhea is 8-1 against Dell City since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Balmorhea Bears will head out on the road to take on the Dell City Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Balmorhea will be strutting in after a victory while Dell City will be coming in after a loss.
After only 23 points in their last game, Balmorhea made sure to put some points up on the board against Big Bend on Tuesday. Balmorhea blew past Big Bend, posting a 72-28 win on the road. Balmorhea's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, Dell City pushed their score all the way to 62 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Sierra Blanca 67-62. Dell City has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The losing side was boosted by Reyes Espinoza, who scored 32 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Isaac Estrada was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
The win got Balmorhea back to even at 4-4. As for Dell City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
Balmorhea barely slipped by Dell City when the teams last played back in January of 2020, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Balmorhea since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
