The Walkertown Wolfpack will head out on the road to square off against the Reidsville Rams at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Walkertown is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.
Walkertown's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against High Point Central as they made off with a 19-0 win. The Wolfpack might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
Owen Tidd was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Tidd was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other pitching news, Caleb Mobley looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Walkertown got a massive performance out of Cam Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Smith has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Caden Joyce, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.
Walkertown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Reidsville came up short against Bartlett Yancey on Thursday and fell 9-5. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Walkertown's record now sits at 13-4. As for Reidsville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.
Walkertown got the 'W' when the teams last played on Tuesday against Reidsville by a conclusive 12-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolfpack since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
