Millville had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 5-12 to make it four. They fell just short of the Columbia Montour Vo-Tech Rams by a score of 18-16. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-5 back in April.
Bella Farrell and Lily Zenzel stepped up to the plate in a big way. Farrell went 3-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs, while Zenzel went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Alexis Eyer was another key player, going 1-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
As for Columbia Montour Vo-Tech, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-9. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.8 runs over those games.
On Columbia Montour Vo-Tech's side, they saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mikayla Honse, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI. Honse has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last four times she's played. Another was Baylee Jendrek, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
