There's no place like home for the Cindy Avitia Jaguars, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They put the hurt on KIPP Navigate College Prep with a sharp 55-32 victory on Thursday.
Despite the loss, KIPP Navigate College Prep had strong showings from Zephaniah Martinez, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds, and Derrick Tran, who scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Martinez has scored all season.
Cindy Avitia's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for KIPP Navigate College Prep, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-12.
Cindy Avitia will be playing at home against Summit Tahoma at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Summit Tahoma knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Cindy Avitia likes a good challenge. As for KIPP Navigate College Prep, they will head out on the road to take on Luis Valdez Leadership Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
