Heard County extended the longest winning streak in AA Region 5 this week by beating Manchester, 28-21. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Braves.
Kendrick moved up to 279 from 307 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league.
Temple's Elijah McFarland and Trevor Shell have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. McFarland has thrown for 257 yards this season, while Shell, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 11 catches for 178 yards. Duranta Dunson from Heard County leads the league in rushing with 303 yards.
A big matchup in AA Region 5 this week will be when the Blue Devils take on Bremen. As it stands, Manchester is in third, while the Blue Devils are in fourth.
The Cherokees made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,346 from 8,288.
