The Grand Island Vikings won the last time they faced the Riverside Frontiers, and things went their way on Friday too. Grand Island claimed a resounding 81-40 victory over Riverside on the road. With Grand Island ahead 40-20 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Riverside's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Javon Elliot, who scored 13 points, and Landon Jaeckle who scored 12 points. Jaeckle scored a full 30% of Riverside's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Al Hasan Balde was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
Grand Island's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Riverside, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grand Island will take on Lewiston-Porter at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Riverside, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Eden at 6:00 p.m. on December 11th. Hopefully Eden focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday.
