The Hibriten Panthers fell victim to the Alexander Central Cougars''s stalwart defense on Monday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Cougars, falling 46-0. Hibriten has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Alexander Central was led to victory by Cole Pennell and Maurice Howell Jr.. Pennell rushed for 61 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, while Howell Jr. rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Hibriten now has a losing record at 3-4-1. As for Alexander Central, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
Hibriten will look to defend their home field on Thursday against South Caldwell at 7:00 p.m. South Caldwell is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Alexander Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Freedom at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
