The Limon Badgers will face off against the Monte Vista Pirates at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Limon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Flatirons Academy 44-16. Winning may never get old, but the Badgers sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Limon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jacob Jaklich led the charge by rushing for 120 yards and four TDs on only ten carries. Those 120 rushing yards gave Jaklich a new career-high. Camdyn Tacha was another major influence, as he rushed for 90 yards and ran in a TD.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Limon proved: they limited Flatirons Academy to a paltry 3.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Parker Harris for the heroic effort on defense: he. Limon didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 10.1.
Meanwhile, Monte Vista never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over Colorado Springs Christian. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Monte Vista's win came from a few key players Limon will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Judah Howe, who rushed for 131 yards and one touchdown. Domyon Naranjo made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Monte Vista didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Azariah Hurtado and Naranjo, who each picked up one interception apiece. Naranjo got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Limon's record is now 9-1. As for Monte Vista, their record now sits at 7-3.
Saturday's contest might be decided on the ground. Limon has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 251.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Monte Vista struggles in that department as they've been averaging 187.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Limon against Monte Vista in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, as the squad secured a 50-20 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Pirates' Khegan Gunter, who rushed for 82 yards and a pair of scores, and also caught one TD. Now that he won't be playing on Saturday, will it be easier for the Badgers to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
