Calvary Day School is a perfect 8-0 against Burlington Christian Academy since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Royals at 4:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Calvary Day School comes in on three and Burlington Christian Academy on four.
It was a proper cat-fight when Calvary Day School challenged Ambassador Christian School on Tuesday. The Cougars came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lions, sneaking past 3-2. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by just one run.

Anthony Hill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up six Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Calvary Day School's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 4-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't).
At the plate, Calvary Day School's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Emerson Amrich, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one run. Tyler Grande also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Burlington Christian Academy made easy work of Page on Wednesday and carried off an 8-1 victory. The Royals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.
Will Grubb tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Burlington Christian Academy let Davis Phillips and Anthony Valdez run wild. Phillips scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Valdez went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lofton Gonzalez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Calvary Day School's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Burlington Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 12-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Calvary Day School has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Burlington Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Calvary Day School was able to grind out a solid win over Burlington Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, winning 7-3. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Royals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
