Julia Leavitt was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Leavitt was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, Davie Slack was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Raylynn Woods, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2.
Virgin Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .611. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Democracy Prep Agassi Campus fell victim to Mater Academy East Las Vegas and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 15-0 to the Knights.
Virgin Valley's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Democracy Prep Agassi Campus, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Virgin Valley has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .597. However, it's not like Democracy Prep Agassi Campus struggles in that department as they've averaged .573.
