The Decatur Bulldogs lost against the Chamblee Bulldogs back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Decatur fell 41-33 to Chamblee.
Despite the loss, Decatur saw an underclassman step up: Dejah Raine scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Raine is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Nadiya Mohamed was another key contributor, scoring five points along with four steals.
Chamblee's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brianna Wood, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. Wood hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Alana Azeta, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and five blocks.
Decatur has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Chamblee, they pushed their record up to 12-5 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Decatur will take on Arabia Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Arabia Mountain presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Decatur in Georgia (Arabia Mountain is ranked 86th, while Decatur is ranked 349th). As for Chamblee, they will head out on the road to face off against Lithonia at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lithonia is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
