It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Templeton Eagles ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 67-64 win over Nipomo. Given Templeton's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 475th, while Nipomo is ranked 974th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Ryan Mcnamee, who scored 24 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Luke Asplund was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Templeton is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Nipomo, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-17.
Templeton will head out on the road to take on Lompoc at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Nipomo, they will play host again and welcome Coastal Christian, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
