The State College Little Lions won the last time they faced the Altoona Mountain Lions, and things went their way on Friday too. State College came out on top against Altoona by a score of 16-6. Given State College's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Altoona is ranked 137th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Eddie Corkery threw for 130 yards and a touchdown. Ty Salazer was his top target, picking up 74 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Owen Yerka rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown.
When it comes to explaining why Altoona lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bron Mosley. Despite the final result, he rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown.
State College's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Altoona, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
State College will head out on the road to face off against McDowell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. McDowell will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Altoona does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
