A Season-Best Performance from Lucian Cruz Leads Alice over Sharyland
On Friday, Alice got the W thanks in part to Lucian Cruz playing the best football he has all season. Cruz rushed for 157 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry, and also threw for 336 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80.6% of his passes. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in November of 2023.
The win (which was Alice's third in a row) raised their record to 5-3. Cruz and Alice will head out to challenge Mission Veterans Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Friday, Pioneer got the W thanks in part to William Goodloe playing the best football he has all season. Goodloe rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Pioneer's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. Goodloe and Pioneer will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Sharyland at 7:00 p.m. on November 1st.

Harris Came Up Big in Sharyland's 57-32 Loss
Sharyland was sadly handed a loss on Friday, but Calvin Harris did his best to prevent it. Harris was unstoppable, throwing for 379 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 54 yards and a touchdown.
For the season, Harris has thrown 24 touchdowns while averaging 294.4 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 11.88 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 73.13 rushing yards.
