Make it five blowout wins for the University Academy Charter Gryphons this season. They took their match at home on Saturday with ease, bagging a 65-27 victory over Cornerstone Family. Kaylee Heinen and Lana Smittick certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Heinen scored 14 points along with eight steals, while Smittick scored nine points along with five rebounds and two blocks. Heinen hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games.
University Academy Charter pushed their record up to 12-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Cornerstone Family, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University Academy Charter will face off against Sumner Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cornerstone Family on the road again on Tuesday and play against Heritage Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
