Softball Recap: Roanoke Rapids Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

Roanoke Rapids won the last time they faced Nash Central and things went their way on Tuesday too. Roanoke Rapids never let Nash Central get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Yellowjackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by eight runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Lydia Carroll, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyla Odom, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Roanoke Rapids was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nash Central only posted a batting average of .000.

Roanoke Rapids pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Nash Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roanoke Rapids will head out to square off against Franklinton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Franklinton has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.4 runs per game on average), something Roanoke Rapids will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Nash Central, they will venture away from home to challenge Southern Nash at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Southern Nash will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Nash Central surely won't give up without a fight.
