On Saturday, the Poly Engineers faced the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Barons in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Poly blew past Bethesda-Chevy Chase 56-30. Poly might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five matches by 24 points or more this season.
Poly's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from London Elliot, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Elliot is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sierra Georges, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
The victory for Poly keeps them at an undefeated 9-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.2 points per game. As for Bethesda-Chevy Chase, their loss dropped their record down to 6-1.
Poly will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake Clifton at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bethesda-Chevy Chase, they will head out on the road to face off against Wootton at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Wootton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 115th, while Bethesda-Chevy Chase is ranked 15th).
