The Williams Bulldogs struggled with offensive rebounds on Tuesday (the Western Alamance Warriors had 14 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Despite the defeat, Williams saw an underclassman step up: Regan Averett scored 13 points along with six rebounds and six blocks. Scout Winter was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
Allie Sykes continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Western Alamance, scoring 24 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tina Bowers, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Williams has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season. As for Western Alamance, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 15-6.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Cedar Ridge the next time they take the court. Western Alamance will host Cedar Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Williams will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
