McGavock and Hillsboro are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The McGavock Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Hillsboro Burros at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: McGavock has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Hillsboro will arrive with seven straight victories.
Last Tuesday, McGavock took a serious blow against Cane Ridge, falling 86-39. While losing is never fun, McGavock can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 321st, while Cane Ridge is ranked 68th).
Meanwhile, even though Antioch scored an imposing 55 points on Thursday, Hillsboro still came out on top. Hillsboro took their game against Antioch 64-55.
McGavock has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. As for Hillsboro, they pushed their record up to 18-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
McGavock was dealt a bruising 80-15 defeat at the hands of Hillsboro in their previous meeting back in January. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point McGavock was down 48-9.
