Edgewater lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Wekiva, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's game. Everything went the Edgewater Eagles' way against the Wekiva Mustangs on Wednesday as the Edgewater Eagles made off with a 12-1 win. Considering the Eagles have won four matches by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Edgewater got a great performance from Tanner Johnson as he didn't allow a single hit, allowed only an earned run over five innings pitched. Johnson has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Odanyx Ofarril, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Edgewater is 2-1 when Ofarril posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Gary (Blake) Alderman was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The victory (which was Edgewater's third in a row) raised their record to 4-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 13.7 runs. As for Wekiva, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Edgewater wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-1 win against Lake Buena Vista on the 28th. As for Wekiva, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-1 loss against Colonial on the 28th.
