Even though the Ohio County Eagles have not done well against the Apollo Eagles recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Ohio County snuck past Apollo with a 41-37 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Ohio County.
Loss or not, Apollo got some senior leadership from Jenna Dant who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds and Jennifer Lee who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Lee scored a full 37.8% of Apollo's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jessica Lee was another key contributor, scoring 3 points along with 4 steals.
Ohio County's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Apollo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Ohio County will be playing in front of their home fans against Elizabethtown at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Apollo, they will head out on the road to face off against Butler County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
