The St. Stephens Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Bunker Hill Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bunker Hill took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on St. Stephens, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, St. Stephens made easy work of East Burke and carried off a 59-35 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-10.
St. Stephens found their leader in underclassman Hayden Hillman, who scored 21 points along with 6 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hillman has scored at least 25% of St. Stephens' points. Jordan Twitty was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Bunker Hill pushed their score all the way to 55 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 64-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Caldwell. Bunker Hill has struggled against South Caldwell recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The losses dropped St. Stephens to 2-1 and East Burke to 0-4.
St. Stephens beat Bunker Hill 40-30 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Will St. Stephens repeat their success, or does Bunker Hill have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
