Moapa Valley has gone a perfect 3-0 against Democracy Prep Agassi Campus recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Pirates are taking a road trip to take on the Blue Knights at 3:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Moapa Valley has four straight wins, Democracy Prep Agassi Campus has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Moapa Valley's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Canyon Springs with a sharp 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
Garrett Hadley made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
In other batting news, Logan Schouten and Tyson Pettingill did most of the damage at the plate: Schouten went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Pettingill got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Schouten has posted since back in April of 2024. Lucas Pettingill was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Moapa Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Canyon Springs didn't got any hits.
Meanwhile, Democracy Prep Agassi Campus fell victim to Virgin Valley and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 18-0 to the Bulldogs.
Democracy Prep Agassi Campus' loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Moapa Valley, their record now sits at 16-10.
Democracy Prep Agassi Campus' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Moapa Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .390. It's a different story for Democracy Prep Agassi Campus, though, as they've only averaged .195. Will they be able to contain Moapa Valley's hitters?
Moapa Valley took their win against Democracy Prep Agassi Campus in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 23-0 score. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Blue Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
