It was a good run, but the Franklin Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 67-66 to Andress. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Franklin came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while Andress is ranked 557th).
Franklin's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jazhiel Herrera, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Noah Hall, who scored 13 points along with 4 steals.
Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Andress, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.
Franklin is on the road again on Saturday and play against Clint at 9:00 a.m. on December 2nd. Andress and Parkland will face off at 10:30 a.m. on December 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
