The Bandys Trojans are on the road again on Wednesday and play against the Stuart W. Cramer Storm at 9:00 a.m. on December 27th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bandys scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Friday. They claimed a resounding 68-21 win over West Lincoln on the road.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bandys to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kate Dutka, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Dutka has scored at least 25% of Bandys' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rachel Anderson, who scored 15 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Stuart W. Cramer had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They really took it to North Gaston for the full four quarters, racking up a 60-15 win on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Stuart W. Cramer has managed all season.
Stuart W. Cramer relied on the efforts of Hadley Womack, who scored 16 points along with seven steals and five rebounds, and Oshauna Holland, who shot 4-for-4 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten steals. The matchup was Holland's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ellia Barajas, who scored five points.
Bandys pushed their record up to 3-5 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 41.67 points. As for Stuart W. Cramer, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Wednesday's game is shaping up to be a scrappy contest: Bandys have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 28.1 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Stuart W. Cramer, though, as they've been averaging only 32.1 rebounds per game. Given Bandys' sizeable advantage in that area, Stuart W. Cramer will need to find a way to close that gap.
Everything came up roses for Bandys against Stuart W. Cramer in their previous matchup back in December of 2021 as the squad secured a 78-38 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Stuart W. Cramer's Dasia Harris, who scored 30 points along with three steals. Now that she won't be playing on Wednesday, will it be that much easier for Bandys to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
