LOS ANGELES, Calif. -
Cathedral (Los Angeles, Calif.) took an early lead against Westchester (Los Angeles, Calif.) and held on for a 48-0 victory on Saturday.
The Phantoms put up 12 points in the opening frame. Cathedral scored on a
M.C. Poe touchdown pass to
Marshaun Cameron and a touchdown run by Poe.
After taking the lead on a Poe touchdown pass to Cameron in the first quarter, CHS was up 26-0 at the half.
The Phantoms grew their lead to 41 points entering the fourth quarter. Cathedral scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by Poe to
Aaron Moore.
Poe was the top performer for CHS. The junior quarterback threw three touchdowns. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
The loss comes after Westchester defeated Fremont 40-0 last week. The win brought Cathedral's winning streak to four games.
In a non-conference game next week Westchester (1-2) takes on Hollywood, and Cathedral (4-0) will go up against Cantwell-Sacred Heart also in a non-conference game.
