Venice (Los Angeles, Calif.) extended its winning streak to five games with a 57-0 victory over University (Los Angeles, Calif.) on Saturday.
The Gondoliers were up 36-0 at the half after taking the lead on a safety in the first quarter.
Venice expanded its lead to 50 points entering the fourth quarter. VHS scored two times in the third, including once on a
Alijah Lee touchdown run.
The the Gondoliers raced to 23 in the first quarter alone and never looked back.
Lee was the top performer for Venice. The junior running back ran for three touchdowns.
VHS went into the matchup giving up only 15.9 points per game. The Wildcats' zero points were well below their season average of 11.1 per game.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 44-6 win for the Gondoliers.
The loss comes after University defeated Westchester 28-8 last week.
University (2-6) goes up against Hamilton in a Western game matchup next week, while Venice (6-2) locks horns with Palisades also in a Western game.
